The end of course work statment

Sadly I have reached the end of the coursework period, although it has been allot of hard work it has also been very enjoy able with a large majority of it being very practical and interactive most of the time being on the computers working within groups and individually. It was very challenging when it comes to the technical parts of the course using soft wear like final cut, which i had not used before but it was all part of the fun and the learning within the media course.  What I like most about the course work it aloud us to be independent although we worked as a group we contributed in our own different way ,we where able to do some much the decision making was all down to us it was based on our ideas this  aloud us to be creative and independent , from this I have gained a better understanding of things such as final cut and I am much more comfortable using media soft wear but it has also taught me about organisation and working well in a group with communication with out this our final product would not have been possible.

Evaluation question seven

looking back to your preliminary task , what do you feel that you have learnt and the progression from it to the full product ?

I think the preliminary task went really well we where able to work well as group and when it came to getting down our ideas and planning we all contributed, every one in the group had chance to be involved and give there ideas. We planned it well so that everyone had a chance to us the camera this aloud practice and preparation for the filming our final product. Even though it was our first time with the camera there where no technical troubles thanks to the short tutorial we had of the cameras before we where set of filming, this was very beneficial as we where able to get on with filing immediately and get everything shot in that one day this was also thanks to the short script that we had previously written meaning we where all aware of what we was meant to be doing an being able to get on with the filming. Form previously lessons we had learnt about the importance of the 180 degree rule and how it cannot be broken as it would affect the quality of our media and the over all viewing for the advance. Once we understood the rule it was easy to apply although we where constantly checking the position of the camera to ensure we where following the rule when it come to filming our final piece it came naturally we followed the rule with out any thought about it . Match on action was something as a group we struggled with it was hard to get it so precise to make it look its most effective but after shooting it a few times we where able to do the rest in editing this papered us for the making of our film as we realized some shots will take longer than other and be more difficult than others and that it always beneficial to shot things more than once because more is better when it comes to editing allowing us to look over our clips and decided which is the best one and in our case take different parts from each clip in order for some shorts to work. With the preliminary task allowing us to gain an understanding of the editing process and how to use it allowed us to get straight on with the editing of our final film with out any struggles speeding up the overall editing process but with out the preliminary task there would have been no practices and editing our final piece may have taken much longer and may not have been as successful without being as skilled this could have affected our over all piece.

Evaluation question two

how does your media product represent particular social groups  ?

There is only two main character in our media product , we have our typical male max just an average man there nothing outstanding about his character that is anything out f the usual , he’s a typical wringing class male having many things in common with the working class male allows this social group to relate. Sara is our leading lady relating and resenting the  independent woman . We present her as a strong woman who no’s what she wants and goes out and gets it a strong mined person. This is not a stereotypical representation of females so  its relation to a hole different social group.

Sara is dressed in dark leather clotting making her look dangerous  something you stereo typically relate  “thugs” wearing  dark clothing allows you not to stand out become unnoticed  this allows her to blend in  making it easier to commit her crimes. This costume would relate to young working class teenagers dark clothing mysterious behaviour .

Our media product has not necessarily related to a social group but more a social class and the groups  that form within them , the  working class male social group and the independent  woman ad feminists. Also challenging a stereotypical  view of woman and how the audience view them.

Practice logo after affect

This was a task set in order to gain a simple understanding of how to use after affects. What i have done is very simple compared to the things you are able to create on after affects but it is also very technical and i struggled with making this simple logo , but i found this very beneficial and although i would still struggle to use after affects i now have a basic understanding and experiences with the program.
